Video Poker Still on Hold in Illinois
Those in favor of video poker in the state of Illinois will have to wait a little bit longer before begin able to enjoy the game. The Illinois Gaming Board met this past Friday and created rules for licensed video poker but have yet to release the rules to the public. Gene O’Shea, a spokesman for the Illinois Gaming Board commented that the Board voted unanimously to adopt the emergency rules. O’Shea stated the rules are good for 150 days from the day they are filed with the Secretary of State.
A public hearing was scheduled to discuss the legalization of video poker which will take place on the 6th of November. The public is invited to attend and give their opinions. O’Shea stated that the Board is urging people to attend and give their opinion.
The partial rules created will be posted on the Illinois Gaming Board website very soon, so the public can log on see some of what has been discussed. The Board still has many decisions to make. They must figure out when and how the games will be launched if they decide to have the games. And they must also decide about regulation funding. Most likely all will be decided after the public hearing.
