Video Poker Ma Become Legal In Allegheny County
Poker machines could soon be legalized to replace Allegheny drink tax. Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato says that legalizing video poker could be a good alternative for the 10 percent drink tax that is in effect now. The reason this is being looked into is the new drink tax is nones favorite from restraints to bar owners.Onorato approved the drink tax along with a $2 daily rental car tax to raise $30 million a year to help the count's transit agency. Onorato is open to other ideas to replace the drink tax as long as the new plan doesn't include raising property taxes.
Another good idea to make video poker machines legal in Allegheny County is that alot of restraints and bars already have them and are using them for gambling purposes so law makers should consider the idea and take a chunk of the revenues from theses machines instead of the drink tax.
