South Carolina Police Department Earns Money from Video Poker Case
The police department in Greer, South Carolina recently came into a good bit of money when they worked a federal video poker gambling case. The police department received $1.3 million for their work on the case and they plan on using the funds to buy new police cars.

Budget restraints have plagued the police department so the extra funds are very welcome.
The Police Chief Dan Reynolds was quoted in a news interview stating: “We haven’t determined how many vehicles, although we do plan to purchase some vehicles. We need to determine our needs in these areas before we expend these funds. Our goal is to purchase those things that will improve our service to the community.”

Greer resident Billy Joe Hindman had to forfeit a total of $9 million as the result of a 2008 illegal video poker case and $4 million of that money has been released. The money is being divided equally by the Greer police, the state Law Enforcement Division and the criminal investigation side of the IRS.
