South Carolina Man Charged in Video Poker Bust
A Newberry, South Carolina man was recently charged in a video poker bust for operating the machines in his home. William Albert Mosely was arrested and charged with operating an illegal gambling facility in his home.

An investigation by the sheriff’s office had taken several months before an arrest could be made. Sheriff Lee Foster said that on Monday afternoon, the sheriff’s office and the State Law Enforcement Division executed a search warrant at Mosely’s home. Information had been received that stated illegal video poker machines were being operated in the home.

Once authorities were inside the home they found six illegal video poker machines. Mosely was apparently allowed people to play the machines and Mosely was making cash payoffs if credits were accrued. These types of machines are illegal South Carolina.

Mosely was charged with possession of illegal gambling devices and operating an illegal gambling house. Mosely was released on Tuesday on $20,000 bail. Those who were playing the machines were reprimanded and released, and none were charged.
