Illinois could Legalize Video Poker Soon
A new plan is in the works for the state of Illinois which would see video poker legalized as well as other changes. The new plan would help pay for $26 billion needed for the public works program. The plan was announced by several government leaders this past Friday. Republicans and democrats in the state senate all want to see the plan put in place. The four leaders of the plan will present it to lawmakers and then see if it will go forward. The plan will hopefully generate $1 billion a year that will cover the cost of paying for roads, bridges, infrastructure needs as well as schools.
The plan has not yet been presented to lawmakers yet so the information released is from a staffer which has remained anonymous. The Video Poker portion of the plan would see the game legalized. It is illegal though it is common in many bars in the state. The state has estimated that $375 million a year could be generated from the legalization of video poker.
